Pricing and packages

Digital PR pricing and packages

Three monthly plans, a defined number of editorial placements in each, and every PR link reported as it lands. Month to month, no long contracts. Bespoke retained programmes are scoped for multi-market or regulated briefs.

The three packages.

PackageMonthly pricePlacements per batchBest for
Starter£2,5005 editorial placementsOne product, service or page group that needs authority and its first run of coverage
Growth£4,50010 editorial placementsBrands building authority across several commercial pages, categories or markets
Scale£8,00020 editorial placementsEstablished brands and agencies that need dependable monthly coverage volume

Every package buys the same standard of work. The tier changes the volume of placements, not the quality of the publications or the care taken over each pitch. Each batch is targeted for completion within 30 to 45 days of receiving the brief, and any publisher-delayed shortfall is carried forward rather than written off.

What every package includes.

  • Editorial placements only. Contextual links inside real coverage on publications people read, assessed for readership, editorial standards and relevance to your market.
  • Story development. Angles built from your data, expertise and market, written to a standard a journalist can lift from.
  • Named-journalist pitching. Individually targeted outreach to reporters who cover your subject, with one useful follow-up and no mass blasts.
  • Your target page and anchor. You choose both; we keep the anchor natural enough to pass editorial review and a manual quality check.
  • Reactive commentary. Your spokesperson offered into live stories alongside the planned stories, from Growth upwards.
  • Full reporting. Every placement logged with the publication, URL, link attribute and target page as it goes live.
  • Month to month. No fixed-term contract. Cancel before the next renewal or change tier for the following cycle.

What the price does not buy.

No named mastheads. Journalists decide what they publish, so no one can sell you a guaranteed slot in the Daily Mail or the BBC. We commit to the batch and to the publication standard, then report what ran and where.

No ranking promises. Coverage and PR links build authority; how Google weighs that authority against everything else on your site is Google's decision. We would rather show you the placements than invent a ranking forecast.

No sponsored content dressed up as coverage. If a publisher only offers paid placement, it isn't part of your batch. Our guide to PR links explains the difference and why it matters under Google's link spam policies.

How digital PR pricing compares.

Across the UK market, digital PR retainers from established agencies typically run from around £3,000 to £15,000 a month, with campaign-based work from £5,000 upwards and no defined placement count attached. Our packages are priced per batch of placements so you can see what a month buys, and compare it with a link building quote or a PR retainer. The cost guide walks through the numbers in more detail, including what pushes a bespoke programme above the package rates.

When a bespoke programme makes more sense.

Three things reliably justify a bespoke scope rather than a package. Multiple markets first: pitching UK and US media, for instance, means separate angles, separate media lists and separate news cycles. Regulated sectors second: finance, health and legal stories need compliance review and more careful sourcing before anything reaches a journalist. Brand-led briefs third, where the goal is sustained share of voice instead of a placement count, and the reporting has to reflect that.

Bespoke programmes are scoped by email after a few questions, and quoted as a monthly figure we can stand behind for the life of the engagement.

When a package is the wrong call.

We will tell you if a plan is the wrong fit. If your commercial pages are thin, your internal linking is broken or your technical SEO is holding you back, links won't rescue that and you should fix the site first. If you only need a handful of placements a year, a one-off campaign may suit better than a monthly commitment. And if you are shopping purely on price against a vendor offering fifty links for a few hundred pounds, we're not the cheaper option, because what they're selling is the kind of paid link Google treats as spam.

What you're paying for: the campaign work that earns a place in real journalism, with a defined batch so you always know the floor you are buying. Links on pages nobody reads are a different product, and we don't sell it.

How to start.

Pick a package and send us a brief, or email info@digitalprservices.co.uk with your website and the pages you want to strengthen. A consultant replies within one working day with the angles we would pitch first, a recommended tier and a start date. If a package is the wrong tool for your situation, we say so and point you somewhere more useful.

Frequently asked questions

What does the placement minimum mean?

Each package defines a campaign batch of five, ten or twenty editorial placements. A placement is a live article on a title people know with a readership that references your brand and links to the page you chose. We target completion of each batch within 30 to 45 days of receiving the brief; if publisher timing creates a shortfall, the balance carries forward until the batch is complete.

Are these month-to-month or contracts?

Month to month. There is no fixed-term contract; you can cancel before the next renewal or move up or down a tier for the following campaign cycle. Most clients stay because the coverage compounds, not because a contract says they must.

Why is there no price per link?

Because the price covers a managed campaign, not a link bought from a list. Each placement is the output of angle development, research, journalist outreach, editorial follow-up, verification and reporting. Quoting a monthly package for a defined batch is the honest way to price that work.

How do you assess publication quality?

Real readership first, then editorial standards, then relevance to your market. Third-party metrics such as DA are a rough filter, not the test. A strong regional or trade title with genuine readers beats a high-metric site nobody visits, and we say so in the report.

Can I pay for a single campaign instead of a monthly plan?

Yes, for a defined one-off campaign such as a data study or a seasonal push. It's scoped and quoted separately, and it uses the same publication standard and reporting as the monthly packages.

Do you charge extra for reporting?

No. Reporting is part of every package. Each placement is logged with the publication, URL, link attribute and target page as it goes live, and you get a plain monthly summary of what was pitched, what ran and what is still in play.
